10 out of 10 experience. The guides Alex and Aiden took great care of us. The Basecamp seems to have the best view on the mountain, so you get to see the volcano erupting from bed. Accommodations were actually quite nice, fine mats and sleeping bags. Only downside is the potty situation. Really good value, highly recommend.

Guides were amazing, patient, well organized and always waiting for the whole team whatever is your level of hiking. Good meals included for the ride but bring some extra snacks/energy bar. Poles are mandatory. At the top, it’s very cold, you’ll need a beanie and good gloves. For the Cabin, you’ll be sleeping on the floor with 5 other people. Don’t underestimate this challenge, but it was well worth it!!

Very helpful guides who made the experience even better! The relatively small group was very nice too and the basecamp was higher up than the other ones which made for a spectacular view of the Fuego erupting!

This tour was SO WORTH IT! My wife and I wanted to see a real eruption, and this tour did not disappoint. Cristian was the coolest guide and he was super helpful with any questions or information. There’s an optional evening hike that’s an extra ~4 hrs where you hike to the actual Vulcan Fuego and get close to the erupting lava, but it was an extra 300 Q ($40 USD) per person and it was raining so we didn’t do it. The campsite we went to had some cool huts and the best view of the volcano. We hardly slept, and it put on a show all night! Remember to take your time and acclimatize a bit because the elevation can get to you. The food was delicious and home cooked, but we did have to make space to pack lunch and dinner ourselves in our bags. Bring warm clothes and gloves for the morning hike. The sleeping bags and accommodations were cozy and warm! Also be sure and remember to bring an extra 100 Q per person for entrance fees! All in all, this tour was super memorable and Cristian helped make sure we were comfortable and happy the whole way!

Incredible hike well worth it. The position of base camp is perfect, much better than other tours. Adan our guide was phenomenal went above and beyond and was super knowledgeable and kind. Would highly recommend this tour especially with Adan who made the tour incredible.

It was so much fun and challenging and worth it! Willy was the best tour guide! He was very patient and accommodating. It was really difficult going up. My friends and I had pretty heavy bags. Definitely find a slower but steady pace cause it’s pretty steep. After getting to camp everything is chill! I would recommend bringing wipes/tp for going to the bathroom! Purchase snacks and water from a tienda before hand (it’s cheaper) and maybe some games if you decide to take down time after you get to camp!

We found this tour group through a vlog on YouTube we watched about the volcano hike. Very small group which we thought was great since neither of us were super experienced hikers and I didn’t want to slow down a large group. This was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but our guide Willie was so helpful and encouraging. As hard as it was, the views were so WORTH IT! The food was good and helped fuel you. The cabins were comfortable. It rained a lot at base camp overnight and we were glad to have the comfort of the cabin versus a tent. We can’t thank Soy Tours enough for their organization and encouragement throughout the hike! Tips: - don’t rush! Take your time. Soy Tours encourages this. You’ll injure yourself or make yourself sick if you go too fast. - pack some nuts and chocolate for extra fuel/snacks - pack lots of layers (especially pants) for the overnight stay at base camp and the summit hike - rent the poncho and the hiking poles! - ask for a porter at the tour office! It’s a hard hike to be carrying all that on your back. - wear hiking boots, not sneakers. The conditions are slippery. The hike down can be really hard on your knees and you’ll be glad to have a good pair of shoes supporting you!

A wonderful adventure! Our guide was encouraging and patient while we made our way up to base camp. Smaller groups, great food, and comfortable accommodations.

Great guides! Hike was difficult. We did the extra hike to volcán de fuego and ended up about 13 miles the first day. Hot chocolate and warm dinner was awesome. We were happy we packed light. Volcán is more active in the middle of the night, set your alarm for 2am and wake up to see the lava
